Boerne Fest May 18

Here's the next fun event in our beautiful city of Boerne, Texas.  I will be in the art show with my son, Hunter, on Saturday.  I will have original art, prints and cards.  Hunter does awesome woodworking from cutting boards, beautiful boxes, pens, wine stoppers and bottle openers... all from exotic woods.   He will also have a couple birdhouses...Alamo and Gruene Hall.

The 2013 BoerneFest, underwritten by Security Service Federal Credit Union, will demonstrate why Boerne holds the title of the 4th Best Small Town in America. BoerneFest begins on Friday evening  with the lighting of the Cibolo Creek and a free concert on Main Plaza at 7 p.m. featuring Two Tons of Steel, a well known Texas country band.       On Saturday,              the Farmers Market opens at 8:30 a.m. at the back of Main plaza,  then just off Main Street next to Main Plaza visit the  Fine Arts Show and Exhibition at 10 am  with over 40 artists and a variety of fine art from pottery and paintings to sculptures and jewelry. Next door participate in activities designed to engage the kids.  From 1 tol 5 p.m. ribbons of business booths will meander around the Plaza, interspersed with live entertainment, a food court, art displays and activities.  See volunteers building sculptures out of donated canned goods and other items in Donation Creation. Find out exactly why Boerne is such a culture-rich small town.  Spend Saturday evening at the free concert starring the country music legend Gary P. Nunn, an icon of Lone Star music, inducted into the Texas Hall of Fame in 2004. On Sunday              start your day at 10 on a self-guided art walk, affectionately called the Boerne Art Waddle, through the Flats, one of Boerne's beautiful residential areas just off of the Plaza. At noon enjoy lunch in the food court while listening to the free Make a Joyful Noise Concert on Main Plaza featuring Boerne's faith-based community's choirs, ensembles and bands. Boerne Parade of Artists this Next Weekend - April 12-14

 Come on out to Boerne this next weekend for the 17th annual Boerne Parade of Artists.  This will be my 4th time to participate and it always has been a great show....complimentary hors d'oeuvres and wine the whole weekend too!  Can't beat that!

  I will be at the Chamber of Commerce on Main Street with 8 other artists so it's a great stop on your tour.  There will also be a trolley Saturday night if you want to ride to the different locations!

I will be selling original art, cards,  note cards, and canvas prints.

 Hours:    Friday, April 12 from 5 to 8 ;  Saturday April 13 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. ;  and Sunday April 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Art and Jazz Fest in Helotes Nov. 3

Come on out to Old Town Helotes to enjoy some great jazz  music, wine, food, and ART!

 I will be sharing a tent with my son, Hunter, and will be exibiting my art, cards and prints.

 

 Hunter is an awesome woodworker artist  creating handcrafted items from salvaged wood and one of a kind birdhouses.  Here is a picture of a few of the things he has made....bowls, salt and pepper shakers, pens, duck callers, cutting boards, and "Intarsia" (picture made of wood cuts).

Have to brag," Number 11" won an award for Best Dry Media at the Texas Hill Country Invitational!!  What a surprise!

And my "Catching up on the Guadalupe" below  won an Honorable Mention at the National Pastel Show on the same night! What a night!

These are two of my recent painting. The sunset was painted from a picture I took one evening coming into my neighborhood with my cell phone. The sunsets were incredible!

The agave is also from a picture taken on a walk in my neighbohood.  Great place to live!

This cute little house is showing my artwork!  It's  Boerne's Copper Dragonfly on 806 River Road.  It's a unique Bohemian boutique owned by Denise and Jim Filer. They have beautiful clothes, jewelry, my son Hunter's woodworking and birdhouses, candles and other "unique" goodies. Stop on by Weds. through Sunday.  Fun place to shop!

2nd Annual Old Town Helotes Fine Art and Wine Tasting

Please come join us for our second annual Fine Art Show in Helotes, right across from Flores Country Store in The Gardens at Old Town Helotes, 15060 Antonio Dr.   Saturday, Aug. 18 from 10 - 8, Sunday Aug. 19 from12-5 and wine tasting  and HorsD'oeuvres from Bending Branch Winery on Saturday from 4-8.  It was an awesome show last year and we are expecting even better this year.
